The thing I wonder about (and haven’t seen much) is whether there are other anti-regime forces ready to spring into action? Are they armed and active? Are they out on the streets, offing Basij members?

The Kurds rising up is a good thing. I’m just wondering if and when the general populace will start getting involved?

The Kurds no doubt see this situation as an opportunity to establish defacto political and military control over an area of Iran that they consider part of “Kurdistan”. Since this action will weaken the Iranian regime, both the Americans and Israelis will offer logistical and air support.

However Kurdish action will not be enough to overthrow the regime. There is a web of thousands with its nexus in Tehran that still controls the Iranian economy, food supplies, the military and the goons. They are very defiant because they know what will happen to them if the regime is destroyed. Also they are benefiting from some degree of patriotism within the Iranian population even amomg people who hate the regime. At their core Iranians must resent and even hate that their fate is being dictated by foreigners. Israelis, Americans. Kurds and Arabs). The bottom line is that if this regime is to be destroyed and the enriched uranium secured, it will take American boots on the ground and hard bloody fighting.
