"The Evil Dead" star Bruce Campbell announced he's been diagnosed with cancer and will be canceling upcoming appearances. On Monday night, Campbell took to X to share that he has a "treatable" but not "curable" type of cancer. "I apologize if that was a shock — it was for me too," he wrote. "I’m posting this, because professionally, a few things will have to change — appearances and cons and work in general need to take [a] back seat to treatment," Campbell continued. (AA Film Archive) The horror star said he hopes to be well by the summer so he can tour with his comedy movie, "Ernie & Emma," this fall. "There are several cons this year summer that I have to cancel," he continued. "Big regrets on my part. Treatment needs and professional obligations don't always go hand-in-hand." Campbell kept the rest of his message short and sweet, explaining that he's "not trying to enlist sympathy — or advice." "I just want to get ahead of this information in case false information gets out (which it will). Fear not, I am a tough old son-of-a-b---- and I have great support, so I expect to be around a while. As always, you’re the greatest fans in the world and I hope to see you soon!" Campbell concluded.

Totally
I've never heard of that. I wonder how widely known that it.
Wow! My husband is in a battle with Stage 4 lung cancer right now, so your account is especially inspiring to me. May you continue to do well & many blessings to you.
I agree.
Back in the late 90s I was a graphic designer for a small publishing company, and they were trying to get their main IP turned into a movie. They talked with Bruce multiple times regarding the starring role, and we even got to have dinner with him at one of the Cons. Really nice guy.
I wish him well...Enjoyed his role as Sam Axe on Burn Notice, a series I have watched, from start to finish - all seasons, so many times I’ve lost count. Will have to do so once again; great scenery, no woke or other political crap, just entertainment. Good luck, Bruce!
“””What kind of cancer; and, why don’t these types of stories never mention the cancer type?
I was diagnosed with Stage 4 metastatic prostate cancer almost 12 years ago. I’ve responded so well with low level androgen deprivation therapy, my oncologist at MD Anderson tells me I will very likely never die from prostate cancer.””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””
Cheers for the good news. I agree with your point that he said it is treatable but not curable. I’d say that is true for most cancers. They can knock it down but that doesn’t mean it is gone forever.
One of my favorites and one I'd gladly buy a beer or six.
Fair winds, my friend. Prayers be with you.
Dang. I only really knew him from the Evil Dead movies and then saw him in The Adventures of Brisco County, Jr. That was a fun series back in the early 1990s. A western with some sci-fi. He’s got some good stuff out there. Even did a one-off TV movie on his Sam Axe character from Burn Notice.
Yeah, I have not see him in the Evil Dead franchise, but enjoyed him in Burn Notice. It was quite an underrated show. But lots of action, clever plots, a little humor and very well made.
Like many shows, it was best during the first two or three seasons. Then it got deep into the government plots and lots it's charm. The quirky people of Miami were the true stars of the show.
What’s your name kid?
The Human Spider.
Ah, that sucks...
I am a Bruce Campbell fan.
You may enjoy this. He used to do commercials for "Old Spice."
This is one of my favorites.
Barry was my favorite quirky character and I swore Agent Bly lived in my neighborhood.
Glad you are doing well. I recall an announcement that Joe Biden had stage 4 metastatic prostate cancer that had spread to his bones but have heard nothing about it since.
Main reason I watched Burn Notice.
I love Bruce Campbell!
I’m so sorry to hear this.
Prayers...🙏🏼
Thans for the ping.
I’m praying for Bruce (Body and Soul)🙏🏼
I’m no movie critic by any means but the funny thing about Bruce Campbell is every character he plays seems to be a caricature of himself. I never see the character, I see Bruce Campbell and that makes it even better.
