The Israeli air force struck a top Iranian meeting on Tuesday where Tehran’s senior clerics had gathered to select a replacement for slain Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, according to multiple reports.
The Assembly of Experts, made up of 88 top clerics, were together in the holy city of Qom when an airstrike hit their building overnight, the Times of Israel reported.
The strike came just as the mullahs were counting the votes to appoint the next supreme leader, according to Fox News.
It remains unclear how many members of the assembly were attending the vote when the building was hit.

I just finished hearing Trumps Oval Office press conference on Bloomberg Radio. It was an update of Iran events. He reports that in addition to about 40 top Iranian leaders being taken out a day or two ago, the second tier of leaders has now also been removed, and perhaps even a third level (this Mullah meeting). Trump said we may soon run out of names we have heard of. He has spoken about our mistake in Iraq of firing all the Iraq troops, officers, and top generals, as well as all the government workers. This did in fact cause a large body of angry, hungry Iraquis to fight us during the Bush 2 occupation. Trump says large numbers of people in charge are now saying they want to quit and get an amnesty. He described how well Venezuela is now working with most of its usual workers doing their jobs.
Trump suggested the death of protesters is far higher than the 30,000 figure, and described the cruelty of shooting unarmed protesters with machine guns and sniper fire. Trump plans to change our relationship because Spain has refused to join the effort to raise military preparedness to 5% of GDP in NATO. He spent a lot of time explaining exactly why he felt it necessary to attack now. He also urged protesters to stay safe, because the streets are too dangerous now with active Army moves taking place.
The Market had dropped some because of this fight, but apparently it has had a bump up as a result of this Oval Office news conference.
