The sinking of the Iranian frigate was the third sinking by torpedo since WWII.

First was the INS Khukri, an Indian Navy frigate, sunk by the Pakistani Navy submarine ‘Hangor” on December 9, 1971 during the Indian-Pakistani War of 1971.

Second was the ARA General Belgrano, an Argentine Navy light cruiser, sunk by the Royal Navy Submarine ‘Conqueror’ on May 2, 1982 during the Falklands War.

The Iranian frigate sinking is the first sinking of a combatant ship by a US torpedo since WWII.

Our Super carrier Abe Lincoln is still in the Arabian Sea. And you have to know that they have a little buddy Fast Attack sub guarding their baffles. You also have to believe that sub crew was begging for a piece of the action. The Abe would know where everything with an Iranian flag was hiding and the Solemani would have no purpose near Sri Lanka except to be hiding. In just a matter of high speed hours the sub could have found it.
