‘Irreversible on any human timescale’: Scientist reveals best and worst-case scenario for Antarctica [barf]

Despite being far away from civilization, a melting Antarctic’s “disastrous” consequences will ripple across the world, researchers warn. Scientists have highlighted just how high the stakes are as human-made climate change continues to rapidly warm Antarctica.

A new study published in the journal Frontiers in Environmental Science, models the best- and worst-case scenarios for global warming on the Antarctic Peninsula, the northernmost part of the mainland.

Researchers warn that the continent’s future “depends on the choices we make today”, arguing that cutting emissions could avoid the most “important and detrimental” impacts of the climate crisis. […]

Under the highest emissions scenario, sea ice coverage could fall by 20 percent. This will have huge impacts on species that rely on it, such as krill, which are an important prey for whales and penguins.

Higher ocean warming could also stress ecosystems and contribute to extreme weather. Multiple extreme weather events in recent years have been linked to the burning of fossil fuels, including the deadly Valencia floods of 2024 and last year’s monsoon storms in Asia. …

“Despite being far away from civilization, a melting Antarctic’s “disastrous” consequences will ripple across the world”

Except that nothing outside of natural cyclic variability has occurred and there is virtually no evidence that humans have anything to do with any of whatever these grifters claim might happen. Literally $Trillions have and will continue to be spent on these idiotic schemes that do nothing but impoverish everyone.

What wildlife? Zebras and camels?

Bad Science is irreversible on any scale. Except the Flat Earthers were eventually reversed (at least some of them).

Peri Reis map, made circa 1513, showing the coast of Antarctica sans ice.

Hint to “scientists”: nobody believes your BS regarding “global warming” any more. Oh, and the funding for this BS is (thankfully) drying up. So…how about shutting up? Maybe you can learn to code - oh, yeah, I forgot, AI is doing that now. So just STFU.

Even 14 year old me couldn’t figure out why Mr Robinson didn’t just murder Dr Smith the first time he tried to wipe out the Robinson family.

I for one welcome the greening of Antarctica. I want to see Trump hotels on beach front property.

...human-made climate change continues to rapidly warm Antarctica.

Put your money where your mouth is; prove that statement true. I'll wait.

The Earth has been warming since 1800 or thereabouts.

The green cultists are certain that mankind is so powerful, we have caused all of that heating and we can irrevocably change the Earth’s climate by our powerful actions.

But we are also so weak that we have no ability to change the earth climate on “any human timescale.”

Since coal is the remains of plant life, coal near the south pole indicates a substantial warm period in distant prehistory.
