Tourists in the Mexican seaside city of Puerto Vallarta were told not to leave their resort on Sunday as a government official warned of "clashes" in the area following a federal operation.

Photos and video shared with Fox News Digital capture billowing, dark smoke clouding the skyline of the city, which is located on Mexico’s Pacific Coast in the state of Jalisco.

Tourists at a local resort told Fox News Digital that they were urged to stay put at the resort. They said no reason for exercising the caution was immediately given.

Thank you very much and God bless you.

I am so glad that I decided to go to Panama for our winter vacation this year and not Mexico.

Their leftist president can’t even control the cartels in her own country but has the time to criticize us.

I suspected the earlier post today about tourists taken hostage was not verified.

It would have been mentioned in this post.

Still, it could be coming.

The cartels said for visitors to stay in their hotels and homes after 5 PM.

It seems it was to make it easier to round them up as hostages.

Mexico as a tourist destination is a mistake. Not only is it filled with low lifes who would cut your neck for $400 in your wallet but if you complain you might have to buy off a cop as well.

Save a few hundred by choosing Mexico over California and get robbed and diarrhea all at the same time.

I try to avoid spending money in CA or Mexico. I figure they are on the wrong side.

“ Their leftist president can’t even control the cartels in her own country”

It would be an extremely difficult situation to be in.
The cartels could just take her out and her family .
Going to be tough to clean up

I have always said that it would be a cold day in Hell whenever I visited Mexico. I was n Big Bend National Park where I could have waded through shallow water about 150 feet across the Rio Grande and been in Mexico and I still wouldn’t do it. Scarcely two feet deep and the most that far up and I could have been there and back in five minutes and I still wouldn’t go. No freaking way. People go to Puerto Vallarta and Acapulco and Mazatlan and they say it’s great but I still wouldn’t go. I know a Mexican woman whose brother was kidnapped and his whole family had to scrounge up the money to get him free. It’s anecdotal but I barely trust a lot of places in America let alone any place in Mexico.

California will be happy to deport their illegals into your state, and once that happens CA becomes 100% red again

I am a white boy that often traveled Mexico when it was just the small bribe to make things right, “La mordita.” The little bite. My wife is from Mexico and we no longer will travel in Mexico. It is just to damn dangerous. As a white boy I am an immediate target if traveling the roads outside of the border towns. My Mexican wife is looked down upon for being married to a white boy that does speak Spanish.

Years ago I often drove down to Monterey to just go back to a loved culture I grew up with on the Mexican Border for a few days before going back home. I am a gringo It was wonderful. Today I would not do this. The Cartels control much. It is dangerous!
