Folks, she set herself on fire at her home, in her garden.
What a terrible way to go.
I hate suicides. The victims they leave behind show how truly sick and depraved they are.
She left behind an 8 year old child. Her own mother found her alive and begging for water. Saying she did not want to die.
That is way outside the norm for female suicides. Also, immolation deaths not related to some sort of vehicular accident or home fire are extremely rare in general. The ones that do happen in the U.S., at least in recent years, seem to be related to drug gang (and possibly cartel) activity. So, things may not be exactly as reported.
Many Many decades ago, I met a congressman from Illinois at a party at Democrat National Convention, where I was working as a UPI photographer’s assistant, getting names of people he “shot”. (Very famous guy, JFK’s fave photographer, did a whole book about the Kennedy family.)
Young and naive, I wasn’t quite aware that the congresscrit was coming on to me. Even invited me to D.C. to “see congress at work”.
This unfortunate girl did have the affair, and as I stated above, a lot of congressmen do or try to do that. I can’t imagine why she ended her life over one of those bums.
