I’ve moved from one state to another a few times, and never officially reported that to any government officials of either the state I moved from or moved to.
If you are supposed to report this I guess I’m a criminal....
Some stares require move dates on the tax return for the year of move.
Wouldn’t you have to pay taxes to the state you moved from for the period you were there?
If the state is ‘notified’ it seems it would be through the tax return...
Hmmm ... Seems like I had to report my new residence in the new State to the Motor Vehicles bureaucracy and the Elections bureacracy ...
