Just a health tip here: if one has a history of severe heartburn or acid reflux, they should see a gastroenterologist and ask for an upper endoscopy. I found out that I have Barrett’s Esophagus which is a precancerous condition. I get surveillance endoscopies every three years to check the cells for any signs of disorder, or God forbid, cancer.
This is the best way to keep ahead of cancer. It’s ordinarily covered by most insurance.
So far, so good.

If you haven’t yet, read Dr. Jonathan Aviv’s book, “The Acid Watcher Diet”. He talks a lot about Barrett’s. I followed the diet and had a complete cure of my GERD. AFter 28 days on the diet, I went back to my doc, told him I didn’t fill the prescriptions he gave me and did the diet instead. He was skeptical, but when he looked, all he said was, “Proud of ya! Whatever you’re doing, keep doing it. All the inflammation is gone.”

Thank you both. I’m in exactly the same boat.

Will try the diet book! I hate waking up with another Liquid Fire episode.

I have my headboard elevated, do a couple doses of pantopropazole a day, keep tums and Pepto at the ready, and wear an elastic back brace belt around my sternum every night. And watch what I eat along with nothing after 6:30.

I still get caught.

At least the 3year scopes have been negative so far!!!
