More money for their fraud policies. I guess Washington State democrats have to learn the hard way just like California and New York did. If you over tax the rich they will leave in droves.

“It is historic,” said Paul Benz of Everett, who’s been a voice for the faith community on this issue for three decades, . . . "One of our biblical quotes we cite is ‘to whom much is given, much is required.’” This is what passes for the religious community in Washington. Christian Socialists.

The good news -— people will be leaving in droves. The bad news -— people will be leaving in droves and moving to red states.

House Speaker Laurie Jinkins, D-Tacoma, who watched the vote from the wings of the Senate, was all smiles as she returned to her chamber. Democrats never saw a tax they didn't like.
Dubbed the “millionaires’ tax” by backers, it would impose a 9.9% levy on personal income over $1 million a year...“We’ll keep working on the details.”
In other words this is a bait and switch.
Once an income tax is on the books it is just a matter of time until inflation and tweeking over time creates and expands it in to a progressive income tax just like we have at the federal level.
The Federal income tax was originally a Tax on the Rich.

I guess it’s ancient history, but folks in Washington really should read up on Connecticut, which had held the line against income taxes for many years until Lowell Weicker caved in and signed a democrat bill.
In ten years, it’ll be at 5 percent on household income over $50,000. And stair stepping up from there.

The currently wealthy wish to do all in their power to prevent others from joining their ranks. Thus has it always been. That’s why these taxes are always on high-income, not high assets.

Washington State doesn’t have a state income tax I believe.
Why don’t they start one?

If anybody thinks that this “millionaires tax’ isn’t going to eventually end up to be in “everybody tax”, they’re delusional. As it is, my family is going down to Florida sometime this year...and staying there.
