I worked with a girl/woman for many years who came to the United States to go to college. Her family had fled Iran after the overthrow of the SHAH. They couldn’t take money with them so converted the cash into rugs and jewelry. She used to wear the most beautiful jewelry to work. She always considered herself Persian and would talk about the royal family, knowing that someday they would get out from under the yoke of the mullahs. Praying, her day has come.
I see no alternative to getting rid of the mullahs, but just exactly how this plays out remains to be seen. It’s very dicey, and if there are elements of the IRGC who adopt a Hamas-like strategy, there could be a lot of pain for a long time.
Then there are the severe water supply problems. Add some political turmoil and the migrations seen so far will seem like a drop in the bucket. :-(
