Even if I could generate my own version of a mission-critical software package, there’s no way Legal will let you use it, because of the potential liability if it causes damage to the company.

In essence you buy the software from a third-party as an insurance policy, even if you could recreate it yourself.

Any company foolish enough to deploy totally AI-written software deserves what it gets.

AI assisted software is now much better than outsourced development. And companies deploy that crap software all the time.
