Jack Youngblood, Hall of Fame DE who played for the Los Angeles Rams, started the Super Bowl and played the entire game with a broken leg.
Actually, he broke his leg in the 1979 divisional round of the playoffs and played the NFC title game and Super Bowl XIV with a broken fibula.
The fibula is the bone which was broken. That is the thinner, generally non weight bearing bone in the lower leg. The tibia is the weight bearing bone.
He was juiced on pain killers while playing. If someone had fallen onto that leg during the game....yikes...
We don’t know what later problems he has from that bone break.
Either way...very gutsy, brave, tough, and foolhardy
