The fibula is the bone which was broken. That is the thinner, generally non weight bearing bone in the lower leg. The tibia is the weight bearing bone.
He was juiced on pain killers while playing. If someone had fallen onto that leg during the game....yikes...
We don’t know what later problems he has from that bone break.
Either way...very gutsy, brave, tough, and foolhardy
I don’t think most people have any idea of the drive and determination of someone who makes to the level of any professional sport, much less the NFL.
To play DE in the NFL a degree foolhardiness to put your body thru the pounding that is required of playing along the line of scrimmage at that level is insane.
When someone with that mindset makes it to the biggest game of their career with no guarantee of ever making it back to that game, unless they are going to lose the leg or die, they are going to play.
I’m sure his mindset was, tape it up, take a pain pill and go play.
