Savannah Guthrie took to social media again with an emotional video in the disappearance of her mom, Nancy, begging the abductor to return her “valuable” mother Saturday and offering once more to pay a ransom.
“We received your message and we understand,” the “Today” anchor said on Instagram, alongside her brother Camron and sister Annie.
“We beg you now to return our mother to us, so that we can celebrate with her,” she added, later saying that her mother’s return is “very valuable to us” and “we will pay.”

One of many strange things is, were this my mother, all news access would be cut off immediately! Why are apparent ‘ransom notes’ and family dialog with the kidnappers being broadcast during each news cycle?
Just today, network host Gayle King expressed sympathy for the family. That’s nice, but...
No one on that network should be saying anything about the case, except for one unified expression of sympathy. No one should be hypothesizing or speculating on such a serious and tenuous matter.
Have they ever received any ‘proof of life’ from these abductors yet? I don’t think they have.
A very elderly woman, with many physical ailments, having been scared out of her mind for over a week, one would not expect her to last very long unless the kidnappers wanted to keep her alive.

this kind of drama sells..its like the saying goes “If it bleeds it leads” if Nancy Guthrie were not the mother of a famous person unfortunately no one would give a rats ass about her..elderly people disappear for different reasons all the time, wander away, etc and its a snippet on the local news. Men, women, and children disappear everyday, many are runaways, some are stranger abductions, their lives should matter too its a shame they dont
It’s the Dark Sky Program that many AZ cities have signed up for. I’m in Pinal County, about 2 hrs from the Mexican border, & my town signed up, altho it’s not really enforced. My subdivision only has street lights on the main roadways because of the program, so if it wasn’t for porch & coach lights, our streets would be impossible to walk down at night. As a result, my porch lights are on all night, just like my parents’ house when I was growing up.

The FIB agent that was answering questions at the last presser said that they have people that are “skilled” in crafting language for such a purpose as a plea-to-the-kidnapper video or other types of communication with the kidnappers.
He said that their expertise was offered to the family but he did not say whether they availed themselves to it when the family made the first video.
“I’m reading it as that they know she is dead and that they want the body back.”
That’s my take, too.
And I, for one, am sick of hearing about it. Other “regular” people don’t get this level of attention.

Sending the ransom request to TMZ (of all places) was done with the desire and expectation that it would blow up in the way it has.

You’re right about the “she is very valuable to us” …..like they’re talking about an expensive Vincent Van Gogh painting…it implies that they are referring to an object. BUT they might be talking to a foreigner and wanted to convey that the mother was very important to them.
Later they say in the end, “because we want to celebrate with her” like she’s still alive.
I think the kidnappers aren’t fluent in english.

Yeah she said “THIS is very valuable to US” that could be referencing a proof of life video that they received that TMZ and other outlets didnt get..and the stupid media they cant stop talking about how the sender of the email “Sounds very intelligent” UH, EVER HEAR OF CHATGPT, the kidnappers were hired to do this, Im still thinking the brother in law is involved I think Ashleigh Banfields original report on that might be correct but the feds told her to shut up
