Something ppl might not be factoring in is that Pretti had a history of attacking ICE property (the SUV) & getting in ICE agents’ faces (1 week earlier). I wouldn’t be surprised if they’d had other encounters with the idiot & had info about him, such as the groups he associated with, his history as an agitator, etc. If they’d been warned about him & what he was capable of doing, that might have colored their decision to fire so quickly.

These agents are human beings & I’m sure they’re on edge every day while they’re in Minnesota, so I’m not gonna put the blame on them 100% for doing their jobs & trying to stay alive.

However, what I cannot excuse was noem coming out and making a statement which basically said this guy came with a gun planning to kill as many agents as possible. Before you make a statement like that in an incident like this, you make damn sure of your facts. She did not.

I agree and it wasn't just Noem that made such idiotic statements as "nobody carries a loaded gun and two magazines." Hell yes they do, and I'm one of them.

I will wait for an official report, but I've watched every angle of the Pretti shooting that is available publicly, and it looks to me that one officer standing behind Pretti drew his weapon when the word "gun" was yelled by the struggling officers. When he did so, his booger hook was on the bang switch. You can see it plainly on the video. And when amped up on adrenaline it doesn't take much to accidently squeeze too hard and have an ND. That's why it is always stressed so strongly to KEEP YOUR FINGER OFF THE TRIGGER.

Once a shot went off, the rest of the officers reacted with additional shots, 10 in all I believe. And all the while Petti's firearm had already been taken from the small of his back and was in an officer's control.

This Petti moron was photographed and video taped previous doing violent, threatening things. As far as a LEO was concerned, he might have gone over the edge into harmful/fatal violence to either LEOs or bystanders at any time. He presented himself as unstable and violent. So Rand Paul needs to shut his big mouth instead of serving up choice ammunition for those who would destroy our nation (dimmocraps/commies and their indoctrinated minions) and potentially increasing the harm to us exponentially. It was a shooting brought on by the deliberate chaos the Pretti guy was engaging in.

If you see a cop has pulled someone over and is engaging in an arrest and you get out of your car with a gun on you and enter into the scene with an aggressive and angry attitude, approach the law officers and the perp, you might get shot. People with dangerous jobs like this are always aware that this day could be their last when dealing with law breakers and criminals. Actually, I have never gone so far as to blame anyone in this shooting incident. What I am criticizing though, is that some in the current US administration are blaming people for legally bearing a gun. Pretti never touched his gun during the incident. The 2nd amendment must be protected.

This is where Rand loses me. I could back a disagreement of this dramatic street theater. There is a video a week prior that shows Pretti spitting at the ICE vehicle passenger side window and kicking out the passenger side tail light assembly....and violently resisting arrest.

If he was booked into jail with no bail available he would be alive today.
