Senate Homeland Security Committee Chair Rand Paul (R-Ky.) says he “saw no evidence” to back the claims of senior Trump administration officials that Alex Pretti was attempting to assault law enforcement officers and instead “saw a man that was retreating” when he was shot and killed by federal officers in Minneapolis.
“I saw no evidence — I saw a man that was retreating. He went to the middle of the street, he didn’t even obstruct traffic, he let a car go through. As the agents advanced on him, he retreated to the side of the street. A woman is violently pushed to the ground and he turns to help her and that’s when he is grabbed from behind,” Paul told Scott Pelley on CBS’s “60 Minutes.”
“I saw no evidence of him assaulting the police,” Paul said, contradicting Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem, who called Pretti a “domestic terrorist” and claimed he wanted to “inflict maximum damage on individuals and kill law enforcement.”

Yes, he is an a@@hole without any facts to support a statement that clearly is incorrect, from any video angle, and also does not include the early videos of him directing other anti-ICE protestors (paid, like him) to have their autos come through the cordon of ICE vehicles stopped to arrest the target, who was hiding inside the building with the brick facade (and who is online saying he watched the scene— quelle horreur).
Apparently bright boy who can’t see (which is mighty strange for a trained opthamologist MD) the earlier video and sound with the kind and gentle VA ICU “nurse” (who is also ID’d on the Signal chatroom organizing protestors, btw) spitting on agents in their SUV- screaming with F words and incoherent cursing, and then kicks out the taillight of the vehicle— who is then tackled to the ground (this being 3 days before being shot) and visibly carrying the same SIG pistol in the same conceal carry holster with mags). Rand must have missed that one to come up with this utter bullcrap massage.

In August of 2020, Rand Paul and his wife were followed by a group of BLM members on their way back to their hotel after attending the Republican Convention. The group surrounded him and his wife, verbally haranguing them until police showed up. There was no physical confrontation, but for weeks afterward, Rand Paul made multiple appearances on TV networks talking about the attack, pushing the narrative about how he believed his life was in serious danger, and that he thought he wasn't going to survive the night.
He's only concerned when it's his own safety that's in danger. Never mind about the dangers and threats that innocent Americans face every day in their own neighborhoods from the illegals he applauds and protects, or the dangers ICE Agents, and every law enforcement officer faces doing their job every day.
