The mysterious disappearance of “Today” show host Savannah Guthrie’s mother is being investigated as a crime, authorities said Monday — citing “suspicious” circumstances at the 84-year-old woman’s home.
Nancy Guthrie was last seen around 9:45 p.m. Saturday at her million-dollar residence in the Catalina Foothills area near Tucson, where officials found a “very concerning” scene, Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos said at a press conference.
“We know she didn’t just walk out of there. She did not leave on her own,” Nanos said.
She is very limited in her mobility,” he said — explaining the grandma “could not walk 50 yards on her own.
“We believe now, after we process that crime scene, that we do, in fact, have a crime scene, that we do, in fact, have a crime, and we’re asking the community’s help,” Nanos said.
Authorities have been searching for the elderly matriarch since she was reported missing by her family late Sunday morning.

An extreme scenario but perhaps she is boing held for ransom. The kidnappers would know that Savannah is loaded.
While she slept, well this is new info..because during the press conference they said that she was last seen around 9:30PM on Saturday night while OUTSIDE her home, now she was taken while sleeping..again makes NO sense..and she needs medication in order to live, so either they let her take the meds with her or something went wrong and she’s dead and they buried her body in the desert somewhere. Maybe my original theory was right, this was just a typical robbery gone wrong, they went into her room, she woke up, they realized that her daughter is super wealthy(Probably pics of her all over her room) and said CHA CHING show me the money, Im expecting a ransom demand its bound to happen
Yeah I doubt she was able to drive anywhere, she had very limited mobility..I wonder if her bank accounts have been wiped yet, its been two days..they say she is very sharp but can barely walk

The thing is a neighbor claims she was outside around 9:30 at night, so that seems a little odd for an eighty four year old woman, was she waiting outside for someone? It’s going to come down to how did they get in, were there signs of a break-in or was a key used, and was she cautious in locking doors.
Did she recently fire a caretaker, lawn crew, etc.
9:30 pm was the time that she was dropped off by her children after having gone out for dinner.

And there is a lot of gang activity in the valley.
Apparently she had a ton of brown people in and out as support. Law interviewing as many of them as they can get their hands on. Ring videos in the neighborhood have created leads. Matter of time at this point.
The township of Catalina is west of the range.
Catalina Foothills is south of the range.
Very different economies and culture.
It would be ironic if it turns out it was someone in the country illegally who did this
At 9:30 it is dark out, sure hope they didn’t just drop her off, that they made sure she got in the house ok and settled for the night, especially because she has mobility issues.
Yeah, that was my first thought. I wouldn’t know Savannah Guthrie if I bumped into her at the grocery store. In any case, she seems to have been targeted for some reason. This didn’t occur in public but at here home. Either someone she knew, or someone who knew who she was. Could have been a relative.

"DailyMail is claiming that investigators told them that Nancy Guthrie was possibly abducted from her bed in the middle of the night and that there were signs of forced entry.Sources told the DailyMail that Nancy had just been dropped off back at her house after a church function on Saturday evening (1/31) around 9:45, which was the last time she was seen.
Nancy didn't show up for Sunday morning church service, causing alarm for her family and friends. Sources say that Nancy's front door was left unlocked and her keys, purse, ID, phone, and daily, critical medication were all in her home. There were other alarming signs as well that have not been disclosed to the public."
