Savannah Guthrie’s mom’s disappearance now being investigated as crime: ‘She did not leave on her own’

The mysterious disappearance of “Today” show host Savannah Guthrie’s mother is being investigated as a crime, authorities said Monday — citing “suspicious” circumstances at the 84-year-old woman’s home.

Nancy Guthrie was last seen around 9:45 p.m. Saturday at her million-dollar residence in the Catalina Foothills area near Tucson, where officials found a “very concerning” scene, Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos said at a press conference.

“We know she didn’t just walk out of there. She did not leave on her own,” Nanos said.

She is very limited in her mobility,” he said — explaining the grandma “could not walk 50 yards on her own.

“We believe now, after we process that crime scene, that we do, in fact, have a crime scene, that we do, in fact, have a crime, and we’re asking the community’s help,” Nanos said.

Authorities have been searching for the elderly matriarch since she was reported missing by her family late Sunday morning.

“Just imagine if it turns out that it was an illegal alien that did her harm in some way.”

That would be ironic - from the story:

“Nancy posted regularly on social media, with her last activity being an anti-ICE post she reshared on Facebook on Jan. 27.”

Crime of opportunity, to blame Trump would be ridiculous, seriously who knew that her mother even lives there and honestly who cares about Savannah Guthrie to even do that

The elderly, especially those living alone, are always an easy target. She might have answered a knock at the front door without thinking it could be dangerous.

No matter their mental state, all of them are frail.

The authorities have also stated that Nancy Guthrie doesn’t have cognitive issues.

I just looked at a satellite pic of the area.

I don’t see how anyone could make off with Guthrie’s mother and not be picked up by any number of cameras...

Continuing prayers for Nancy Guthrie...

Glad to see police involved early. In December my mom wasn’t answering her phone. Nephew had spoken to her the morning before and said she seemed off. I live in another state and caked a friend that lived close by to check on her. No answer so I called the police to do a well check on her (93 years old). They said it would be a few hours as they considered it low priority. Friend got an off duty Sheriff friend to come over after an hour and finally got a response intermittently saying she was coming. No, she had fallen we now figure more than a day prior as after my friend was able to break in through a window they found her in a hallway on the ground. Over 1-1/2 hours and no police. She was dehydrated and at the hospital found her kidneys had started to fail. Spent a week in the hospital and a month more in nursing home. Now home and finally agreed to allow home health care.
Bottom line was she was within a few hours of no return. Glad the police didn’t hold off investigating this elderly mother’s situation and hope they find her.

She did not show up for Church, which seems to have been the “trigger” from the search.

I hate hearing these stories about attacks on the elderly.

First, I truly hope that she is okay and found in good health.

Now, to take a Liberal’s stance...

911 Operator: “I’m sorry, we’ll get there when we can. All of our services have been defunded per your demands... we can have a Social Worker there in 2 days”

“I’m sorry, the gate was locked and our Grief Counselor could not climb the 4 foot wall. Please have her call us when she can unlock the gate”.

Tell them that Don Lemon is inside, and they’ll get right in....

If you spend any time in a medical office you have watched the Today Show enough to develop a deep and visceral hatred for all of them.

Which group of ahos in the “media” are going to be the first to say she was kidnapped by ICE.

Billy Eelfish and Gay Bugs Bunny don’t count.

I've read that at any given time about 1/2 of residential camera systems are not functioning. Homeowners simply forget to turn them on

I have numerous properties and they are all packed to the gills with security devices. Wouldn't dream of turning anything off in a vacant house, never mind one with a frail elderly person inside!

Not sure I'd even remember HOW to turn some of them off. If you need one and bother to buy and install a system, why on earth would you turn it off?

I read somewhere that the Catalina Foothills are considered the Beverly Hills of Tuscon. Hard to believe that there is not a wealth of security footage

Being upscale doesn't make an area safe. On the contrary, it attracts predators. They see a sexy house, they don't smell the mortgage, they smell art, antiques, coins, silverware, jewelry...

Only a part time resident of Oro Valley, but what you posted is what I thought. Very different price range homes.
