Different parts of the country have different standards for what they consider “dressy.” Plus, it wasn’t a church wedding. I’m a southerner, but had to learn that the hard way after having moved north for a number of decades.
Its not different parts of the country its a wealthy socialite event. Atlanta or the Hampton’s you dress up. Bottom line this woman was under dressed for the event. So people will likely make mention of it.
