I believe maybe 4 or 5 Chicago PD, FBI and Law and Order episodes had an officer or detective shout “Stop.” and the suspect actually stopped. Hundreds of episodes have a long chase. I decided track stars in high school and college were the number one need for law enforcement.

Missy Peregrym on FBI.
“Raised in Canada, she played competitive soccer, basketball, lacrosse, and field hockey throughout her school years. She is also skilled in snowboarding and coached high school basketball.”
For her breakout role as a gymnast in the 2006 film Stick It, she underwent four months of rigorous,,, daily training. Despite having no prior gymnastics experience, she performed many of her own stunts.
Her athletic prowess enabled her to handle the physical demands of roles like Officer Andy McNally in Rookie Blue.
Training for Stick It resulted in significant physical strain, including back issues and tendonitis, but she gained profound respect for the sport.”

In one cop show the cops would yell stop, and if the pero kept running they would laugh and say, “where the heck does he think he’s going.” They always end up finding the perps. Where is the average person going to go?
