I doubt there will ever be a unification of all Christian churches

All the more impressive it will be when it happens. From a human perspective, you are quite right. Heck there are still Arians and Nestorians continuing from 1,500 years ago.

There is the supernatural Christian virtue of Hope. We look forward to the day when there will be One Fold, One Shepherd.

I try to be an optimist; I am by nature.

But when I see some of the ‘conversations’ here, I can envision a return to burning heretics alive and drowning ‘witches’ rather than reunification.
