I went to buccees once ... never again ... never ...
I don’t see them coming to Alaska during my lifetime.
We have been to a couple, over the years. They have great bathrooms and jerky. The staff is always nice. They have a ton of gas pumps.
We did not get gas there, though, because it is not a Top Tier Gas compliant fuel.
Since going with Top Tier Gas, over a decade ago, we’ve never had a fuel-related problem or ever needed an injector cleaning or additive.
It’s a no-brainer to stay with Top Tier Gas.
BTDT. No need for a repeat.
Gas, maybe snacks, and a place to pee. Everything else is unneeded.
We have Love’s here, so probably not.
Where did that name Buc-ee’s come from?
If this was centered in Ohio, where I used to live, ‘I could see Buckeyes being part of the name.
Phoenix Arizona!
We are On The Map!
As a kid, my parents used to always stop at Stuck-ees (I know how it’s spelled) when traveling. I never understood the big deal when that wasn’t the destination.
They opened one in Virginia last year, and I think two more are coming.
I wonder if there have to be sewer modifications around the small towns they are in.

I live in Texas, but I am not a Buc-ee’s fan.
I especially worry about them putting other places out of business, especially The Czech Stop/Czech Bakery, in West, where I always stop by on my way back to DFW.

I live near a Buc-ees - we go occasionally to grab a sammie and some snacks that are difficult or impossible to find elsewhere - my fave is their sugar-free chocolate covered pecans. Wife gets fudge and peanut brittle. Usually gas up as well since it’s the cheapest around.
I don’t get the Buc-ees cultists - it’s a nice and unique place but still basically an overpriced convenience store. Yet the one near me is always busy, and on holiday travel days you’ll wait in line to even get in the parking lot.
The lack of truckers is a big selling point also because while they're important to keeping the country's economy going, they also tend to be pigs who trash a place and lots of women get uncomfortable going into a place with too many of them around.
Pull the women in with clean bathrooms and an environment where she's comfortable and the kids follow. Kids pick up lots of candy, stuffed animals, t-shirts, etc. when they're inside. Not everyone cares about the local favorite dining experience when they're traveling, most just want a bathroom that isn't filthy with reasonably priced gas and some food they can grab & go. Buc-ee's gives them that.
Yup, we made the Buc-ee's list. Love those clean restrooms! :-)
But WHY is it taking until 2030 to complete?? Is it the slow permitting in this area, or something to do with the 100+ gas pumps that I guess are pretty standard at most Buc-ee's?
