The moron landlord is responsible for this .

She thought she was going to make a fast buck renting to homeless at above market rates and guaranteed government check.

The results are predictable. It will take her years to evict these people and she will have to fight zealous homeless advocates every step of the way.

If the place does not burn down down from tweakers cooking meth in the interim

The rest of her tenants are going to go through hell and by the time she evicts the homeless her units are going to be completely ruined.

She, the land lord, has already moved them out. The program was run by a non-profit not the state. In that aspect she was lucky.

Looking at the “art” work on her building and the “trendy” neighborhood she is in, I’d say this another lefty mugged by reality.

Plus, as a prospective tenant news like this gets around.
I lived briefly in an apartment project when I first moved to NH. Every week the fire trucks would show up because someone burned a pizza. Then the police would show up a couple times because of some domestic situation. Typically after midnight on a Tuesday.

I left after three months. Broke the lease. Let them have my security deposit. When I spoke to other people in town those apartments had a reputation. Everyone knew NOT to rent there. It was a last resort type of place.

The other factor is that the real estate value of surrounding buildings and single family houses is effected by this. Just like if “THE PROJECTS” in your city are close by. No one wants to buy a house if the projects are close by.

The landlord might not have had a choice. If you own a certain number of rental units you must accept section 8.
