Minnesota gave us Joe McCarthy and Ilhan Omar. America turned inside out from 1953-2026.

Just a thought.

How would you add to this thought.

How did it happen that Minnesota gave us both Joe McCarthy and Ilhan Omar. Does it mean anything?

And Joseph McCarthy was 100% correct. He should be an American hero, and venerated.

The Left set the agenda for his demise, burial, and salting of the earth he was buried in, and we didn’t know what they were doing.

We recognize it now.

Yep. I have read extensively on that era, and “Blacklisted by History” is the absolute best book on that subject.

The Kennedys were friends with McCarthy. Rfk made Jow his daughter’s grandfather, and was crushed at his funeral.

Joseph R McCarthy was from Appleton, Wisconsin not Minnesota.

A lot of people don’t know that. M. Stanton Evans covers that relationship in his excellent book.

What was immediately apparent is the Democrats and media outlets had the same basic template back then as they do today.

I was a little over the top yesterday. To answer your question, small town and rural America don’t have as much influence as they used to, nor do old urban neighborhoods which broke up as people moved to the suburbs. People aren’t voting in their own interest anymore. They’re swayed by faraway mass media. Of course, immigration and the educational system played a big role as well. Then, too, politicians realize that in a divided country they can stay in power longer by appealing to different groups, rather than acting in the public interest.

All politics is national now. People don’t have emotional ties to the places they live anymore.
