The elephant missing in the room is the abysmal competence of the younger generations, courtesy the marxist education system. They are barely literate, can’t do basic maths, can’t memorize anything and have the attention span of a slug. All while convinced they do much better than a daily wage Chinese worker.
When people blame our Deep State diploma mills, I have one question...
Where were the parents?
And then once they’ve reached adulthood and can see that what they want conflicts mightily with life in Realville, it’s the responsibility of young adult to suck it up and get with the program until said young adult has been with the employer long enough to be valued. And then Gen Z can be cut some slack. If Z still wants/needs it.
Note to Gen Zers with issues: Some people actually enjoy working for a living. Not necessarily the mundane job, the disappointing salary, or the coworkers, but the challenge to deliver excellence in everything you do.
Try it, young’uns. You might find you like it.
RE: “They are barely literate...”
For a related generational perspective, my father who was a college professor told me about this in the 1980. Some of the students were sadly deficient in skills such as writing.
Slugs may have a quite long attention span
At least, they don’t leave a task very rapidly
But they get an A+ in self esteem, which actually means their very inflated Egos.
They are above rules and consequences.
