I loved the Oilers (Bud broke my heart) but I hated that song because of its earworm ability. I used to go to every home game starting in the late 80s up until they left. I got to where I’d sometimes run to the concourse, covering my ears when we scored.
I will always associate with that Monday Night Game when Earl Campbell single-handedly beat the Dolphins.
Certainly the Oilers were tweaking the Dolphins by using that game to introduce the song.
I had arrived in Houston only a few months before that and that was the night I fell in love with the Oilers.

I’d like to see Stroud succeed because his dad is a jerk in prison who ruined Stroud’s childhood and CJ and CJ’s mom made it on their own. Go CJ. I am a Chiefs fan, so if the Chiefs can’t be in it, I want either Purdy and the 49ers or CJ to make it. I can’t stand those Seahawks.
