The Minnesota Supreme Court on Wednesday reversed the third-degree murder conviction of a former Minneapolis police officer who fatally shot an Australian woman in 2017, saying the charge doesn't fit the circumstances in this case. Mohamed Noor was convicted of third-degree murder and second-degree manslaughter in the death of Justine Damond, a dual US-Australian citizen who called 911 to report a possible sexual assault behind her home. He was sentenced to 12 1/2 years on the murder count but was not sentenced for manslaughter.

Quaintance sentenced Noor to the high end of the presumptive sentence, which was between 41-57 months. She said this harsher sentence was justified because he endangered his partner, a bicyclist and other residents in the area when he shot Ruszczyk Damond out of his squad car window.
Noor, 36, in 2019 was convicted of third-degree murder and second-degree manslaughter in the fatal shooting of Ruszczyk Damond on July 15, 2017, marking the first time in state history that a police officer was convicted of murder in connection with an on-duty incident.

I live in Texas , but I remember this outrage .
This was the last white woman killed by police in Minneapolis before Renee Good. She was not participating in an act to defy authority or impede law enforcement. Just a homeowner who called 911.

We remember it well. If a white cop shot a black woman in the same situation the city would still be burning. Here in Occupied Territory of Minneapolistan the Smellians are untouchable.

In case you forgot, he was a new/trainee riding in the front passenger seat. He shot a totally innocent woman through the open DRIVER’S SIDE window! Right across the chest of his partner/trainer.
Whites have no rights in minnesota. The state is using its power against Whites, to take away their rights.
Officer Chauvin was never going to get a fair trial. The verdict was decided in advance.
mohammed noor was never going to go to jail to do serious time. The governor, mayor and other democrats were forced to put him in jail for a little while, because of the publicity. The plan was to release him after the case was no longer in the news. The media gladly helped by totally burying the story.
Justice was not carried out, twice. All predictable because of the races. Whites do not get justice.
Oh, my God! Those details are damning - and the MN Supreme Court tossed out the murder conviction!
I reckon Somalis were already a protected class, back then. It’s a wonder they did not let the killer go altogether.
As was mentioned, Derek Chauvin still sits in prison, despite the autopsy reports absolving Chauvin. I hope he can get and win on appeal.
