You’re giving your grandchildren great advice. I have been blessed that they all lived near for a time. Now 5 of them still do, but one has gone to Hawaii and the other is out in Utah. 25-4. We think about how fast our children grow up but the grandchildren growing up seems exponentially faster :-(
Living close is the the cat’s meow.
My eldest granddaughter (26) lives with my son a couple of miles or so away.
She stops by once a week or so just to decompress and raid our fridge.
She must have gotten that from my son cause the stops by about once a week and goes right to the fridge.
My daughter lives in Texas and we try to visit each other once a year for a week or so at a time.
My daughter thought I was nutz when I read baseball’s infield fly rule to the kids when they were first born, telling them if they can understand this then everything else will come easy...
One summer she called me all excited and out of breath. “Dad, you were right about the infield fly rule..,I’m watching a girls college softball game and the umpire called an “infield fly”. Nobody knew what to do. Base runners\batters etc...”
I became wise...for a day :)
Take care...
