I was bullied into getting the J&J. Last year, I had a BRUTAL case of Shingles. I went to the local Publix for the Shingrix vax, but couldn’t get it because I was in an active outbreak.
I then read, later, that the Shingrix is linked to GBS.
I have a personal experience with GBS — my mentor had several bouts of it, and died two years ago because of it. He was in, essentially, an iron lung type machine at the end.
I miss him.
And I no longer trust any kind of Western Medicine — but I for my shingles, I took Valtrex, and that helped.

How awful. I had no idea GBS could be so severe or result in an iron-lung type machine. I am with you - I am now quite a skeptic of anything i'm told I 'need' to keep me safe.
