Los Angeles Democratic Mayor Karen Bass expressed disappointment and concern Friday with Hispanics joining Border Patrol – arguing they’re only doing it for the paycheck.
“Well, in a way, I think it’s sad,” Bass said of a CNN report on Border Patrol’s new recruits, many of which are Hispanic.
“I think that those Border Patrol agents are going to have a difficult time when they’re out in the field and they see what actually happens in real life separate from their training,” the mayor told “The Situation Room” host Wolf Blitzer.
The report Bass was asked to respond to included interviews with Hispanic agents and recruits explaining how they respond to critics who say they are arresting their “own kind” or “own blood.”
“They didn‘t come in the right way. So, they aren‘t my kind,” 20-year-old Border Patrol recruit Juan Peralta told CNN correspondent David Culver.
Border Patrol Agent Claudio Herrera explained that he has no qualms with carrying out his duties.
“I’m protecting my community,” the proud agent said. “I’m protecting both sides of the border.”
More than half of Border Patrol agents are Hispanic, according to federal government data.

I joined the Border Patrol in 1985. It was 50% Hispanic back then.

You are absolutely correct. Not all Hispanics are illegal, and not all illegals are Hispanics. Her implication that they're deporting their own is inherently racist.
“Arresting their own kind”. Well, that is damn racist. Come on Karen Bass, call them a cute name. I know you can think one up.
When she says “no one is above the law” she is maybe thinking of different laws than the average citizen thinks of as “most important”. Sorry Bass, but I think the average laws for a citizen’s safety is more imortant to them than the ones that pertain to taxation. You really have to give equal consideration to both & I don’t think you look at that way necessarily.
Maybe they’re desperate for truth, justice, and the American way!

Actually, the biggest victims of the illegals are members of Karen Bass’ tribe, especially the lower income folks who are looking to get their foot on the ladder and work their way up. The illegals swamp the lower tier of the job market while driving up the cost of housing. Open borders writes off the black underclass.
I’ve lived in DC for a long time. The hispanic guys who show for construction and landscaping type projects openly ridicule young black men in a way no white or asian person would dare to express. The hispanic guys show up to work, and they hustle. They are careful of other people’s property and clean up the area. They will automatically pitch in and help a neighbor, especially an older person, who is struggling to move things. You can trust them.
And what they say about young black ghetto types is pretty blunt. The young black men who DO want to work are well aware of this and understand the negative stereotype that is being sustained by the ghetto types.

I know a guy whose family lived in New Mexico since it was called New Spain, and who were among the first Spanish settlers north of Old Mexico. He currently lives in Santa Clara, Cali., after his brother sold the family property to an oil company.
He hates all “immigrants” from south of the border. They bring him a lot of trouble. Even his son, who is a Harvard graduate (mid-1990’s)) and a business owner, is expected to be anti-ice.
Well Miss Africa USA. I find it “sad” that non-American illegal aliens are joining our government, our schools and our military. They have no business being there. They don’t have any loyalty to America. They wave Messican flags while burning U.S. flags and killing Americans.
