Ford Motor Company logged far more recalls in 2025 than any other automaker, according to federal safety data, eclipsing a decade-old industry record and underscoring ongoing quality issues affecting millions of vehicles across multiple model lines.
According to data from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, Ford logged 152 recalls in 2025. The manufacturer with the second-most recalls was Honda, with 53, followed by Forest River with 32, General Motors with 27 and International Motors with 26.
Last week, Ford filed a recall with the NHTSA over a software error that may cause a loss of drive power in certain 2020 Escape Hybrid and 2022 to 2024 Maverick Hybrid vehicles, though only 87 units were potentially affected.
Four other recalls were issued by the automaker the same day, including one involving an instrument panel cover that could detach in an estimated 6,897 2025โ26 Maverick pickups. Another recall addressed headlights that may fail in 2025 to 2026 Mustang Mach-E vehicles, affecting more than 45,000 units.

“The company said, “The number of vehicles recalled reflects our intensive strategy to quickly find and fix hardware and software issues and go the extra mile to help protect customers.”

Less models in their lineup and more overall design faults. Can you say โDEIโ? I knew you could.
Those pennies per car saved in manufacturing are costing big bucks. Thats becoming more true with all manufacturers.
Theae computerized actuators and sensors are doing nothing for the car buying public.
When I was younger we used to say Ford stood for Found on Russian Dump...
A family member owned a Model T and ‘36 Ford.
I’d take either of those, especially that ‘36, over anything on a Ford lot now.
What about when when there’s a recall to fix a previous recall?
It's okay though - between more outsourcing and Didn't Earn It (DEI) hiring, they'll be better next year.
Having worked in unionized and non unionized shops I’m not a big fan of collective bargaining units......in my 40 years in the workforce I saw very few things that motivate workers more than fear of termination due to incompetence.

I know there’s plenty of people that swear by the Ford brand and as I understand it they are very popular in the UK, but my parents owned a couple of fords when I was a kid...one being a 70s era Pinto wagon...that was enough.....because of that I’ve never owned a Ford and never plan to.
Heh heh heh...
Dang, that’s a sad state of affairs, though.
Americans used to love their cars.
We need to make American automobiles great again.
Reignite Americans’ love affair with their cars.
LOL!
Well, to be fair to Ford, at least they aren’t responsible for the worst acronym in the history of the automobile industry.
May TRD forever live in infamy.
“We need to make American automobiles great again.”
Not that it would ever happen but step one IMO to do that would be to get rid of the unions.
Toyota US is non unionized and their quality seems to stay at a relatively high level.
