Thursday on the “Politicon” podcast, Democratic strategist James Carville said Charlie Kirk “was not a pimple” on filmmaker Rob Reiner’s ass.
While discussing Reiner’s legacy, Carville said, “Charlie Kirk, there was this thing, some kindergarten teachers forwarded some things he said about women. I would urge anybody to look at that. And they fired, you know, fired him. Okay, I’m sorry, I don’t want anybody to get shot. He had young kids.
I hate that, but Charlie Kirk was not a pimple on Rob Reiner’s *ss when it comes to influence, and it comes to impact when it comes to anything else. I don’t want to say anything bad but for God sakes don’t compare Charlie Kirk to Rob Reiner. That’s not fair.”

It's not fair. Reiner made a fortune creating pleasant diversions for people to enjoy (or not enjoy) in their free time. He then used his fortune to try and effect political changes . Charlie Kirk was out in the trenches every day trying to win hearts and minds. And was murdered by a deranged nut. I doubt we'll ever hear 'Howard Hawks, John Ford, William Wyler, Martin Scorsese, and .... Rob Reiner. ' in an artistic sense either. He's gone so I merely say RIP.

Why would anyone compare a decent man like Charlie Kirk to a notorious slimeball like Rob Reiner?

Well said, Joann. Charlie Kirk had considerable influence among younger people. I saw some of that in my own extended family.
Rob Reiner influenced no one. The only people who followed his comments were fellow travelers.
It wasn’t just the younger generation that Turning Point turned out. They were a huge help to our MAGA county GOP in boosting turnout, in a way the state party and national party were NOT! Though the national party did get a ton better after they got rid of the Romney wench.
He does seem to be angry and bitter about something.
I think he was hoping HIS kid would follow the example of Rob’s kid...
In a way, a sad one, Carville is right. While Charlie Kirk quietly approached people face to face and dealt with their thoughts and needs in a far more personal and caring way, Reiner used the stealth and perceived power of the screen separating himself from his audience and creating a fantasy of his ideals by making himself look larger thus more right. And because of the media, it went to far more places than Kirk’s more intimate approach and influenced more people by numbers alone, right message or not. One way is fantasy and the other is REAL. But only one sells itself.

Kirk did not promote hatred of others. Meathead did — regularly.
Meathead was filled with hate towards anyone who disagreed with his “rightthink” — typical commie trash.
Once again the Crypt Keeper rises to spew ignorance and hate, Reiner, while making some very good entertainment, did nothing positive for society. I don’t call conning ignorant and gullible Californians into passing a proposition to pay for anti tobacco ads, a proposition that basically lined the pockets of communists like him.
I don’t think anyone, okay maybe a few, people deserve to be slaughtered like he and his wife, any more than Charlie Kirk. From what his daughter, who also has mental and addiction issues, said about her dad, Meathead also had mental issues all his life, sounds like a genetic issue to some degree.

Yes - Reiner was a propagandist, and a POS like Carville who spent most of his career as a front man for a rapist would love that kind of selling of human garbage that Reiner did.
