In a way, a sad one, Carville is right. While Charlie Kirk quietly approached people face to face and dealt with their thoughts and needs in a far more personal and caring way, Reiner used the stealth and perceived power of the screen separating himself from his audience and creating a fantasy of his ideals by making himself look larger thus more right. And because of the media, it went to far more places than Kirk’s more intimate approach and influenced more people by numbers alone, right message or not. One way is fantasy and the other is REAL. But only one sells itself.

If we’re talking about movies, Charlie wasn’t a movie producer so it’s a silly comparison. Reiner’s movies weren’t political. His only political influence was backing an anti Trump effort. Kirk was far more effective.
