The Jake Paul vs. Anthony Joshua bout took place this weekend, marking one of the most anticipated and talked-about boxing events in recent times. The fight kicked off on 19 December 2025 at the Kaseya Center in Miami, Florida, and was exclusively live-streamed worldwide on Netflix as part of a major event card.
The fight consisted of eight 3-minute rounds with knockouts permitted and both fighters donning 10 oz gloves. It featured former two-time unified heavyweight champion and Olympic gold medalist Anthony Joshua (28-4, many KOs), 36, hailing from Watford, UK, squaring off against YouTuber-turned-professional boxer Jake Paul, 28, originally from Florida, UK.
Paul entered the ring with a 12-1 record, having primarily been a cruiserweight before stepping up to heavyweight.
The bout saw Joshua triumph over Paul by knockout in the sixth round. The initial rounds were slower-paced, with Paul utilising movement and clinching to evade damage, while Joshua aimed to land heavy blows.

Mike Tyson was over 50 when he fought Jake Paul and that was a WWE type fight.
I don’t know about the legitimacy of this fight, but Anthony Joshua looked like a GIANT compared to Jake Paul, plus Anthony Joshua was jacked, he looked fit and in shape physically to fight.
Joshua could have probably knocked him out much earlier but let it go on for entertainment purposes.
From what I read of Anthony Johnson, he’s big and strong but he doesn’t have the best skills for a heavyweight.
Jake finally had the boxing opponent he deserved.
Joshua was 30 heavier than Jake. I don’t know the rules, but that nearly puts him into a different weight category than Jake. Anthony is much taller, therefore, he had a much longer reach than Jake. It was probably like trying to fight a spinning Windmill.
Jake may want to stop boxing before he gets his bell rung good and hard with a concussion producing smack to the head. That might reduce his quota of Clicks on his YouTube Channel!
I had the fight on while watching the end of the college game.
From what I could tell Paul wasn’t wearing a mouthpiece.
And I read to day he suffered a broken jaw.
Boxing 101, mouthpieces matter.
I expect we will find the payout rules similar to Mike Tyson. No big money if knockout in first 4 rounds.
That could be true, but Anthony Joshua is an Olympic Gold Medalist and 2-time World Heavyweight Champion, at the very least he’s significantly more talented and larger than Jake Paul.
Last night seemed like the WWE as well. Joshua was going easy on him.

I don't know, that chair to the back looked pretty painful.
Early in that fight , you could see Tyson go after him hard, and then stop when he realized hevwouldn’t get paid.
Even at over 50 years old, a fighter like Mike Tyson with the talent he has could have put Jake Paul down in 2-3 rounds tops, if he really wanted to and not put on a WWE type show.
Do I need a passport to enter Florida now?
