“ Rob’s portrayal of Michael Stivic on All in the Family was not an act, it was his true self.............”
And he got that part because of who his father was. Any meathead could have played that part. Granted he directed some good movies later, but without All In the Family he was a nobody.

Read the above. is there anything you disagree with?

Perhaps I am misunderstanding this idea.

But what I see in society is that each side of the political aisle believes that what they are doing is moral and serving humanity in the long run.

Take health care, for example. The Left believes we have a moral duty to provide affordable health care to all people, and that people of wealth should be taxed at higher rates to pay for it. Conservatives, on the other hand, believe that health care is a service that is provided at a level that each person is able to afford.

In the larger picture, conservatives believe a government that provides for the well-being of its citizens discourages good character traits like discipline, savings, and personal investment. While from the liberal view, government programs give the citizen the freedom and possibility of self-improvement and pursuing happiness.

I think my ability to have friendships with liberals, and I have many such friendships, is my belief that they mean well and have good intentions (for the most part), but that their methods ultimately do more harm than good.

Progressives, though are a different story. They are elitist and their only goal is dominance, power, and superiority.

Never saw anything online or TV about Reiner and TDS. Why is he taking such a beating here about it? People forget everyone is entitled to their own opinion and agenda without taking a beating - even AFTER death?????

Having an opinion is fine. Reiner, however, was one of the early voices pushing the "Russian Collusion" narrative. He formed a "committee" in 2017 to focus on that, and was a very public cheerleader for the Mueller investigation - even though it was plainly a fabrication. What, exactly, was his "committee"? Beyond being a Communist coffee klatch, its likely purpose was a "spin machine" for any information about the Russia Hoax that didn't fit the Democrat narrative. That's why the "committee" included Obama people and former intel agency types. That's a lot more than is needed to offer mere opinion - and Rob Reiner was neck-deep in it.

> Woods is stronger than I. It is difficult for me to remain friendly with haters.

Its completely understandable, when you work closely with someone through adversity to achieve a common goal, you establish a bond that transcends politics.

I have worked with some a lefties who came through for me personally and professionally without asking them.

Its weird, and I don't understand it, but it does happen.

So I do think Woods and Reiner had a genuine bond.

Mike and Gloria were supposed to be the stars of the show... but everything they did just made Archie and Edith more popular

It's just that the one side rejects God's way of doing things and inserts its own twisted morality, doing things to “help” in the short run that, in the longer run, ruin the very thing they were trying to fix.

Reiner’s political views were reprehensible and destructive. And, sadly, there’s prima facie evidence that RR was a failure as a parent. With that said, people are complicated. Even the worst people are capable of kindness and goodness at times. And even the best people can descend into meanness and evil at low points in their lives. If Jimmy Woods saw good things in RR and was the recipient of his kindness and friendship, I admire the loyalty displayed here. In my book, you don’t betray a friend over politics or optics, so good for Jimmy.

I’ll be shocked if he doesn’t kill himself before he goes to trial.

People have to realize not everyone gets their news/views from social media. Why on earth would anyone go to such lengths/extremes to learn what someone is saying about someone else? For goodness sake - stop and smell the roses..read a book, work puzzles, take a walk - something other than feeding on the negative constantly.

We can take a lesson from that: never get so consumed with anger and hate that we forget our humanity.

Which is why I stay on a restricted diet of politics. I can eat anything and remain healthy, but I have to watch what goes into my mind. In the past 5 years I've quit everything on Fox News (Hannity, Laura, Gutfeld, the Five, Tucker) by tapering off gradually. That's several hours a day I can devote to learning what's true, good, beautiful, etc. Meanwhile I get all the news I need from FR. And I feel much better for it.

Well said...shows WHO is the bigger person all right. I don’t get the thrill some have in their hatred of another person..someone who had a different opinion..different politics....

It is possible to love someone who disagrees with your politics. TDS is an extreme, irrational condition. It is not founded in fact, but is completely outside of reality. The MSM is largely responsible for it, though people readily take it up and run with it. There would be very little of it, were it not for the MSM. As I said, it’s completely irrational. For the first several years of our marriage, my husband was a democrat. He got his Trump hatred from public radio. Thank God he never went full TDS. God provided a reason for him to stop listening to NPR, and he became a conservative in not too long a time, as he began listening to conservative radio. I thank God for that. It was difficult to not be in communion with each other over politics, but I never stopped loving him.

This is a neat facet of the Internet... you really don't have to go looking for this stuff. Rob Reiner's sad demise has caused much of his past corrosive commentary to bubble back to the surface for all to see. Ignore it if you wish, but it is out there... and you *did* ask.

The mentally ill need to be placed within “Snake pits” as mental health facilities used to be called. Drug addicts, in the same place. Have excellent care, and of course some will move back into Society and make contributions.

My point is, We the People need to be protected from the mentally ill. From trannies, to drug addicts, and from all of what is historically called insane individuals.

Build and reopen Insane asylums, instead of homeless, fill them up with the bums and the drug addicted. That is all.
