The Obamas were supposed to meet with director Rob Reiner and his wife, Michele, the night they were allegedly killed by their son, Nick Reiner, in their home in Los Angeles.
“We were supposed to be seeing them that night — last night — and we got the news,” Michelle Obama said on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” Monday night, when host Jimmy Kimmel asked how she was coping with the news of her friends’ murders.
The former first lady said she and her husband were devastated when they learned that the legendary filmmaker and his wife, with whom they had been friends for “many, many years,” had been killed.
“Let me just say this: Unlike some people, Rob and Michele Reiner are some of the most decent, courageous people you would ever want to know,” she said — appearing to allude to remarks made by former President Trump, who called Reiner “deranged” and “tortured and struggling” in a Truth Social post following the filmmaker’s death.
“They are not deranged or crazed. What they have always been are passionate people who — in a time when there’s not a lot of courage going on — they were the kind of people who were ready to put their actions behind what they cared about. And they cared about their family.”
Following the couple’s deaths, former President Obama released a statement praising the Reiners’ legacy.
“Michelle and I are heartbroken by the tragic passing of Rob Reiner and his beloved wife, Michele. Rob’s achievements in film and television gave us some of our most cherished stories on screen,” he wrote on X.

Apparently, Rob was a part of a group including Comey, Paneta, Mueller and Obama that pushed the Russiagate narrative while knowing it was fake. Reiner, IIRC, bankrolled this endeavor and a lot of Dem/Obama thongs. He was in deep.
Was the Secret Service aware of the threat that Reiner’s son posed ? Supposedly the son had a reputation for violence.

Interesting point especially if the Obamas were meeting them at their home where the son was around. Apparently a veteran security team that Reiner had used for years on his movie sets had told him years ago that his son was a danger.
This was a quickly arranged PR plan .

Trump missed a chance to be great here by simply acknowledging sympathy to the surviving family ( Michelle Reiner was a talented photogapher who produced Trumps cover photo on his first book) and bringing the horror of drug addiction and its destructive results into the public dialogue
In order to "be seeing them together" the Obamas would have to be together. Has anyone actually seen them together in the last several years??

Ok, I will confirm that a disturbing percentage of political folks are psychopathic. However you don’t move up in politics if you can’t hide or disguise your dark side. Trust me, it can be extremely ugly off camera. Notice that Trump doesn’t hide his harsh, blunt, yes...sometimes petty side. He seems way more trustworthy with power than almost any pol I’ve encountered.
I can't find anything, and it would be amazing to find out that he took the opportunity to say nothing.

Reiner has been rather quiet for many months. I remember reading that he went to some kind of therapy or something after Trump won the election.
I am beginning to believe the disappearance had more to do with what was going on in his family than it did because of politics.
