TUKWILA, Wash. — A Flash Flood Warning is in effect for a dam break on the Green River near Tukwila, which is causing the potential for "life-threatening flash flooding."
The National Weather Service (NWS) issued the alert at 11:51 a.m. Monday, saying that the Desimone Levee on the Green River, has failed.
Kent, Renton and Tukwila all could experience flash flooding as a result of the dam break.
Residents and businesses east of the Green River in the Orillia area in Tukwila, Renton, Kent are under a Level 3 (Go Now) evacuation notice. People in that area should go north or south.
Emergency officials warn people against walking or driving through standing or moving water, and advise everyone to respect barricades and road closures.
The National Weather Service added that the break happened along the east side of the Green River along S Todd Boulevard.
So... I guess it would be best to get the hell out of the way then. Please do so if you are on the flood plain.
Creedence Clearwater Revival
“Green River”
Well, take me back down where cool water flow, y’all
Let me remember things I love, Lord
Stoppin’ at the log where catfish bite
Walkin’ along the river road at night
Barefoot girls dancin’ in the moonlight
I can hear the bullfrog callin’ me, aw
Wonder if my rope’s still hangin’ to the tree, aw
Love to kick my feet way down the shallow water
Shoofly, dragonfly, get back to mother
Pick up a flat rock, skip it across Green River
Well!
Up at Cody’s camp I spent my days, Lord
With flat car riders and cross-tie walkers
Old Cody Junior took me over
Said, “You’re gonna find the world is smoulderin’
And if you get lost come on home to Green River.”
Well!
Come on home
First riff I learned on guitar was the start of that song...
Pretty much just a simple 2 fret slide but the sound will go on forever.
It sounds twangy and great on my tele!
That song always makes me think of Nam..... it was big at the time.
Play it yourself, it’s very simple!

And the mountain snowpacks are melting away into the floodwaters.
That is why my expected package did not arrive today.
That spot is normally heavy traffic…there it is abandoned.
I-5 was backed up for 2 miles in the lane going to Hwy 18 that hooks up with Hwy 167. We are going to have more heavy rain coming.
