Indiana Gov. Mike Braun (R ) on Thursday said he would help President Trump primary Republican state lawmakers who voted against a redistricting measure backed by the leader.
“I am very disappointed that a small group of misguided State Senators have partnered with Democrats to reject this opportunity to protect Hoosiers with fair maps and to reject the leadership of President Trump. Ultimately, decisions like this carry political consequences,” Braun wrote in a post on the social platform X.
‘I will be working with the President to challenge these people who do not represent the best interests of Hoosiers,” he added.
In a 19-31 vote, the Indiana Senate rejected the redistricting bid, with more Republicans voting against the new map than for it.
“We’ll be launching primary challenges against every last traitor who voted no, effective immediately! Pack your bags, your time is up!” Trump adviser Alex Bruesewitz wrote on the social platform X, responding to the vote.
Republicans lawmakers in the Hoosier State who opposed the effort have defended their decision to buck Trump.
“Make no mistake, I, like many of those who will join me in voting no today, are constitutional fiscal and religious conservatives. What that means to me is that I believe in conserving the values, the culture and the institutions that created American exceptionalism,” said Indiana state Sen. Spencer Deery (R), who voted against the map.
“My point is that my opposition to mid-cycle gerrymandering is not in contrast with my conservative principles,” he said. “My opposition is driven by them.”
Trump has threatened to primary all GOP lawmakers that defied his mid-decade redistricting push in the state.
“They found some Republican ‘SUCKERS,’ and they couldn’t be happier that they did! Guys like Failed Senate Candidate Mitch Daniels, who I opposed in his Race against Senator Jim Banks, and Cam Savage, whoever that is, are fighting against the Republican Party, all the way,” Trump wrote in a lengthy Truth Social post ahead of Thursday’s vote.
He specifically slammed Indiana State Senate Leader Rod Bray (R ).
“Bray and his friends are the favorite Republicans of [House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries [D-N.Y.], Crazy [Rep.] Nancy Pelosi [D-Calif.], and Cryin’ Chuck Schumer [D-N.Y.]. Anybody that votes against Redistricting, and the SUCCESS of the Republican Party in D.C., will be, I am sure, met with a MAGA Primary in the Spring,” he wrote.

Bingo. Can you imagine being with these kind of defeatists during the Revolutionary War, or World War II? My God, they seem to FOLD at every bit of opposition.
I know they did not answer a call to action by the Party.
Worse than not answering the call, they actively sabotaged it.
This is nothing more than Bray and a couple of others having TDS. In order for that small number to not be outed by themselves, several others joined them in RINO solidarity.
bobbo has TDS.
Vermont has really turned into the state that is either the rich liberal retirees or poor people doing blue collar jobs. Which many are seasonal. Like working at a big ski area. Or cleaning up after leaf peepers.
All the bed & breakfast inns are owned by some guy & his wife who used to work on Wall Street. They used to trade stocks & bonds. Now they make pancakes. the still subscribe to the Times.
Then there are the dairy farmers. Which there are still a lot. They are all the conservatives that are now outnumbered by the former hippie liberals(like Bernie). On their dairy barns they have signs that say TAKE BACK VERMONT. The good thing also is that the Amish are moving in and buying up dairy farms.
Keep in mind, that Vermont has more cows than people.
It is a very rural low population state.
The problem is that rich liberals keep retiring there too.
Unfortunately, the same thing keeps happening in NH. During covid we got a lot of people from NY, CT & NJ. We always get Massholes moving up here.
Which has made a fixer upper house $400-500K.
Any decent house in the area is $600+.
It has turned us inot a Purple State.
I had to take a drive recently to St. Albans and passed through Burlington. The last time I was there ( around 1985) we sailed my buddies boat from Willsboro (NY side) to Burlington, tied to a pier and walked into town for a beer. When I drove through last month I didn't even recognize it.
My son considered going there to UVM for a grad degree UNTIL he visited. He said there were so many drug addicts walking around everywhere he decided against it.
FYI, the Somalis that they brought in now control that drug distribution. They like to kill each other fairly often. Which has made the murder rate in VT soar. Making Burlington one of the higher murder rates around.
All cultures are equal....
All per Liberal, Democrat, secular policy.
Imagine if rinos fought as hard and unified as democrats. Democrats are ruthless and stick by their most reprehensible members no matter what.
If you go by the couple of web sites that track republican voting in the house and senate, the party has representatives that literally vote with democrats almost 80% of the time. In fact, members that vote concervative more than 70% percent of the are considered alt-right. There are likewise websites that track democrat members of congress, and I can’t find a single democrat who votes liberal less than 80% of the time. And that is only a handful. Tell me again about ideological purity?
I frankly don’t find those numbers credible, but I’m open to having my mind changed. Could you please cite one or two of those websites?
I don’t frequent the liberal trackers, and I not going to start searching for them again, but here is the liberty score site that rates elected officials on their support of conservative legislation. Heritage is another I use for conservative scores, but I for some reason when I search for them, I am not getting their scores. I know I have accessed their scores before because I sent John Cornyn an email a week or so ago asking him to explain his low scores.

Ok, it seems you have to click on a member to see their conservative score at Heritage. Lisa Murkowski is sitting at 34%, and it is disapointing how many are under 50%.

This.
Even Texas was a big gamble in redrawing districts that were once extremely Republican into districts that should be *mostly* Republican.
We should also consider that MAGA's base of low-propensity voters don't like to show up unless Trump himself is on the ballot and these off-year special elections have been a disaster for Republicans with the Democrats running the table.
The only shining light was Tennessee where the Republican won by single digits (in a district Trump carried by 22 points) after the Democrats nominated a crazy woman who told her voters that she hated them.
So, to succeed, 10 winning STRONG, conservatives must be found, vetted, convinced to run, funded to defeat the RINOs.
