It reminds me of the frog and the scorpion story… Anytime government gets a hold of any kind of tax revenue stream, your butt is gonna get stung.

And everyone EXCEPT liberals knew this was coming once uncle sugar got his hands in the pot (pun intended).

:: black market pot will be big business in Michigan ::

Some locals sell “sticks” on the sidewalk in Ecorse.
Shades of the “onsies” bust in NYC.

The real winners are the billboard companies. I’ll bet 70% of billboards working 39 miles of the state border are for pot stores.

It’s comically pathetic.

The power to tax is the power to destroy.

Funny how we have to learn the same thing over and over again.

Of course part of the problems is that the market is also over saturated. In an area that used to be a blue collar shopping district there are four large dispensaries in a block. The megalomart, tire store, flooring store and five of the restaurants are gone along with six or seven smaller stores.

Maybe they would have left without the influx. Don't know, but they did leave after the dispensaries moved in.

No other new business has moved in.

If the government needs the money I say fine, but a 24% tax hike is too little. I’d prefer they raise taxes about 500%, then they can really rake in the tax revenues right?

Dispensaries are closing left and right in my area.

In New York, there is a dispensary on each and every corner.

I do care when people drive “high” cause they are killing people and it is not reported due to it being legal in those states.

Stinking skunk shit.

I agree, but wait for the FR potheads to come in and defend this crap. There are a surprisingly large number of them here.

Marijuana is illegal under U.S. federal law.

When will the Federal Government begin enforcing that?

But have you noticed that these people who are driving while stoned or even smoking, are not being pulled over and charged with any crime whatsoever? If you drink a beer in your car and a cop sees you, you’re done

What makes this any different? Or is because it’s the “miracle weed” from God?

The government is promoting this for money. I can see the clampdown in 20 years when they discover health issues, much like they did cigarettes.

Note to state government of Michigan—when it comes to sin taxes:

Driving high is just as unlawful as driving drunk. Took 20 seconds to find the stats:

I know this but every state that has legalized pot has hundreds of them driving and smoking at the same time.

Believe it or not, Obama tried that when states started to legalize it, but that was probably some kind of federalization, and related to the rest of his ****** agenda.
