Fired MSNBC host Joy Reid played Grinch on social media this week, sharing a video claiming beloved Christmas anthem “Jingle Bells” was written “to make fun of black people.”
In the video she shared to her 1.3 million Instagram followers, a man in a Christmas sweater and Santa hat stands on the streets of Medford, Massachusetts near a plaque marks the site where James Lord Pierpont is believed to have penned the song in 1850.
He takes off his hat disapprovingly and scowls at the plaque, the video caption reading “this is where a racist Confederate soldier wrote ‘Jingle Bells’ to make fun of black people, and has its origins in bigoted minstrel shows that were popular at the time.

You don’t have to sing “Jingle Bells” to make fun of “black” people like Joy “Yeti” Reid. It happens automatically. She’s a single digit I.Q. loser.
Let’s not goad the pollsters into asking how many Dems and young people agree with that plan.
Maybe have separate poll questions for the preferred fates for healthcare CEOs and Christian speakers on campuses.
KILLjoy Reid should just close her mouth and squirm away in to a dark hole.
Wait til they get to “White Xmas”.............
Joy Reid can go entertain herself.
Sounds like a guy I worked with. He thought Brazil nuts were racist.
Ugliness, like beauty, is in the eye of the beholder.
He went back South and fought in the Confederate army. His father and much of his family were abolitionists.
Pierpont wrote for minstrel shows, but “Jingle Bells” wasn’t about African-Americans. It had more to do with the New England where he was born.
Pierpoint got the last laugh on Joy Reid and everyone else though.
His nephew was J.P. Morgan, maybe the most powerful man in the country.
what, then, does he think of “I’m Dreaming of a White Christmas”
There is a link to a 2017 poorly written college article that is insane.
My response now?
So what?
I’m so tired of everything being “racist.” What are we supposed to do when someone calls a song or anything else “racist”? Fall down and grovel and cry? We’ve been doing that for decades. It’s time to either laugh at it or say “So what?” They’ve overplayed their hand and at this point they can go to Hades.
Joy reid is racis but she is also a bigger idiot and a fool.
She needs to be ignored.
Sounds like a really great place to live. Not unlike two of the towns I grew up in.
Worse, they’re constantly on the watch for anything they can twist to push their whining, aggrieved, entitlement agenda.
Perhaps Kwanza is racist too.
