Three months after her husband, Charlie Kirk, was assassinated, Erika Kirk will open up about life, loss, the state of political discourse and more in a one-hour town hall event moderated by Bari Weiss, CBS News' editor-in-chief. The special will be broadcast on Saturday, Dec. 13, at 8 p.m. ET/PT on the CBS television network and will stream later on Paramount+ and CBS News 24/7.
The event, filmed before a studio audience, will feature Kirk fielding questions from young evangelicals, prominent religious leaders, and figures across the political spectrum. The conversation will also focus on our country's political divide — and how we can find our way out.
Erika Kirk is the chairman and CEO of the Turning Point USA. The organization was founded by her late husband, a conservative political activist who was shot and killed on Sept. 10, 2025, while speaking before a crowd on the campus of Utah Valley University in Orem, Utah.
"Like so many people around the world, I will never forget the moment that Erika Kirk forgave her husband's killer," said Weiss. "I am eager to speak to her — and thrilled to be doing so in front of a group of Americans who I know will elevate the conversation."
The town hall will be recorded in New York before an invited audience.

You appear to have a bunch of assumptions about this case—all of which may be true, some of which may be true, or all of them may be false.
This may not be what you think it is.
It is time to take a deep breath and see where this goes.
There is a trial coming up—let us see what we learn there.
It was interesting, but I think an argument could be made that the LLC is just setup to collect rent from the mall vendors, and possibly other sources of income such as him providing some sort of services to TPUSA. I’m certainly not claiming that or excusing it, just saying I don’t think you could know for sure without some actual legal analysis, or best case, some depositions from the owner. At a minimum, it looks like the IRS should be finding out.
According to more reports than just Candace Owens, Charie felt TPUSA money was being mismanaged, and had ordered a full audit days before his death. An audit, that may have then been cancelled, which if true, is certainly cause for some red flags. He also had indicated in private texts that were released and even confirmed by TPUSA, that he was planning on moving away from “the Israel cause” and had possibly even just turned down millions in offers from those donors.
None of that is proof in of itself, but if true does give a possible peek into ill motives, and as you inferred, the love of money is the root of all evil. I’m all for it being looked into further, I just wish Candace wasn’t so loose with a lot of her accusations she can’t really back up at this point. Erica should be considered innocent until proven guilty, and we’re a heck of a long ways from that. Candace probably could have gotten even more info by remaining an insider for longer, rather than burning that bridge almost right away.

I used to do forensic accounting back in the day—so of course this sort of thing gets my attention.
Non profits always need to worry about self dealing by insiders.
I remember I helped my employer catch a Board member attorney who was ripping them off....so it can happen.
I don’t think there’s any doubt that money was going missing, else Charlie wouldn’t have called for the audit. If that was cancelled, and rumors are it has been, then someone needs to be looking at who cancelled it, and why they are now going against Charlie’s wishes when they have more money coming in than ever.
These “kids” and “pastors” running the show are probably in far over their head, for the kind of money they have coming in, and youth often brings selfish behavior and bad decision making. I can speak from experience on that LOL, but I think most people would agree with it too. I guess youth is their focus, but behind the scenes they need some real maturity helping manage things, and I’ve seen none of that on display.
Maybe the trial will tie everything up with a nice little bow, but I doubt it, might even get ugly with the dirty laundry. That would be a shame, but if there is any evil hiding in the closet there, it needs to be aired, to prevent something like this from ever happening again. We just need the truth, hopefully we’ll get it, somehow.
Yup—it would be ironic if this was not “political” in any way—but just good old fashioned greed and cover-up.
I think she is overexposed. Who’s taking care of the little kids at home while she travels around making the most of her celebrity status and fifteen minutes of fame? Sure, she has to keep Turning Point going, but is all of this media exposure really necessary?
She showed up at Ol’ Miss recently dressed in a tee shirt and skintight, black leather pants. They looked like they had been sewn on her. I’m not saying she has to dress in widow’s weeds like Queen Victoria with a black veil over her face for the rest of her life, but all that heavy eye makeup and long shawl of bleached blond hair is a bit much. Every shot of her shows her bejeweled fingers clutching a hanky, decorously dabbing her moist eyes oh so carefully so as to preserve the mascara and eyeliner.
She needs to withdraw for a little while before she wears out her welcome. She’s becoming a prime candidate for a SNL parody.

You’re overreacting to my comments, I’ve said several times Candace has gone too far, I’m just trying to explain to you that some people are ANGRY for what happened to Charlie, and aren’t satisfied that enough is being done about it.
Unfortunately, some of that anger is falling on Erika’s head, because she chose to be the leader of TPUSA.
Yes, she’s a grieving widow, we hear you loud and clear, but what you aren’t hearing is that she is now, also, the CEO who is responsible for righting what went wrong. And nothing seems to be being done. Even Charlie’s final wishes, to audit the missing money, and turn away from unconditional support of Israel, etc, aren’t being honored.
That’s why some people think Erica is dancing on Charlie’s grave just as much as Candace. I don’t really feel that way, but I would feel better if she honored Charlie’s wish and at least did the deep dive audit, wouldn’t you? Or are we supposed to permanently put her on a pedestal, beyond reproach, even though she is now responsible for professionally managing this huge org, that is all thanks to Charlie? Or does what he meant, stood for, and asked for, no longer matter?

I know, I know. This is a big trigger for me. I took care of our Pastor’s mother for 12 years and then my Widower Father for 2.
That’s powerful scripture, and I haven’t criticized her at all here, much less mistreated her. I’ve repeatedly given her the full benefit of the doubt, and singled out Candace is the one who has clearly gone too far.
You’re going a little overboard yourself though, too, apparently insisting Erika is now eternally protected from any criticism, ever. If she wanted that, she should have gone home to raise her family, and handed the CEO role over to an experienced professional to audit the company, per Charlie’s wishes, and get this criticism off their back. CEO’s are going to get criticized, it’s part of the job, and some people don’t think anything is being done in response to the horrible tragedy that just happened. If you don’t care, fine, but quit bombarding Jim’s site with false allegations. You’re bearing false witness on some people, whether you mean well or not.
