Three months after her husband, Charlie Kirk, was assassinated, Erika Kirk will open up about life, loss, the state of political discourse and more in a one-hour town hall event moderated by Bari Weiss, CBS News' editor-in-chief. The special will be broadcast on Saturday, Dec. 13, at 8 p.m. ET/PT on the CBS television network and will stream later on Paramount+ and CBS News 24/7.
The event, filmed before a studio audience, will feature Kirk fielding questions from young evangelicals, prominent religious leaders, and figures across the political spectrum. The conversation will also focus on our country's political divide — and how we can find our way out.
Erika Kirk is the chairman and CEO of the Turning Point USA. The organization was founded by her late husband, a conservative political activist who was shot and killed on Sept. 10, 2025, while speaking before a crowd on the campus of Utah Valley University in Orem, Utah.
"Like so many people around the world, I will never forget the moment that Erika Kirk forgave her husband's killer," said Weiss. "I am eager to speak to her — and thrilled to be doing so in front of a group of Americans who I know will elevate the conversation."
The town hall will be recorded in New York before an invited audience.

Hey cowboy, leaving the catfight between Erica and Candace to the side, do you really believe a 30-06 shot from 100 yards into poor Charlie’s neck would not have done more damage than that? Surely you’ve shot one before, right?
That is one of the bigger issues I think people are actually focusing on, as the lone shooter story we’ve been force fed has some gaping holes in it. Like never releasing the video of the person who jumped from the roof actually firing a rifle, even though that same camera covered the exact supposed spot were the shot was taken. According to calibrated time, the jump down was supposedly just 3-4 seconds after the shot was fired, which would have been only 1-2 seconds before that released footage begins.
For me, my ears got perked right after it happened when I heard someone shouted “STAY DOWN” just a couple of seconds before Charlie was shot. When people started looking into it, turns out that it was none other than former Congressman Jason Chavetz from Utah, who now works for Fox News. Things that make you go hmmm, right? Or not?
There’s lots of other “oddities” about that day, that led to the conspiracy theory explosion, a lot of which is completely separate from TPUSA and the Candace/Erica drama. Until those questions are answered, it’s not going away.

She dod more than most could do. She forgave her husband’s killer. She is a wonderful, godly woman.

Charlie wouldn’t want you walking through the parking lot. You would be a bad reflection on TPUSA and he would frown on you.
Yep, I think a lot of people just have questions about it, still, and don’t think the investigation dug deep enough into all these abnormalities, for it to be taken for granted that this one guy acted all alone. And it does attract a lot of curiosity that Erica was (still is?) using this same security team for her protection, after what happened to Charlie. I don’t think any of that justifies the types of accusations that Candace has been making, some of which seem pretty far out, but so long as these questions remain, people are going to ask them, and some are going to wonder why Erica isn’t asking them as well.
I’m somewhere in the middle and keeping my powder dry, first I don’t think there’s any real evidence yet that TPUSA was involved, much less Erica herself, but second, I am also pretty skeptical that the supposed shooter acted alone, assuming he even is the actual shooter. It would be best for everyone if he was, but there’s just too many oddities on this thing to already feel completely sure that’s the case.
