Not something Japanese students are expected to engage in.

If they find out who did this, they will be shamed mercilessly. Japanese do not go for this foolishness.

That was my thought. What the hell? Perhaps things are changing in Japan, and not for the better.

They were certainly pushing someone’s Bali button.

They should consider never going home again. This is not the behavior Japanese society accepts. Even if you’re young and stupid.

If they were buying, or thinking of buying, they would be customers; instead, they were planning to be thieves.

They are Japanese, but one of them pronounced Youtube in an English accent, so I don’t know what to think, but there are young Japanese chinpira that will do this.

Korean? Japanese kids wouldn’t do this. Not many Koreans either, but the audio leans that way.

one of them pronounced Youtube in an English accentIt depends on whom they hire as English tutors; I've known some Japanese who had the Afrikaaner accent down pat.
Incidentally, the rising use of TOEIC (Test of English in International Communications) will likely cement the American accent in years/decades to come.
Back when I was involved with the local sister cities org, we used to bring middle school students from Japan for a week of Southern culture; among other things, we taught them to say, "I'm fixin' to see my meemaw." 😁

Agreed. Sounds unlikely they are Japanese.
