Dear Jon Preston, stop looking at life through a political lens.
POTUS is the President of all the people & his pardon power is for righting injustice not for rewarding friends. People spin it otherwise, but POTUS does not. He dispenses justice, and mercy where warranted.
The fact that it does not meet with a return in some cases is just life. Morality dictates that we continue to do what we believe is right even unto enemies. Sometimes right is to blow them out of the water sometimes right is a pardon because of prosecutorial malfeasance.
