That would be a silver lining in what is about to be a very dark cloud unless things turn around abruptly in the next couple of hours.
Davidson County, which is coterminous with Nashville, is split between three different congressional districts (5, 6, and 7), so only a portion of it is in District 7.
Trump is wasting too much time on foreign policy. He ran on "America First", remember?

Based upon the remaining outstanding votes, NYTimes election page still has Van Epps winning.
Behn is already the State Rep for Nashville. This race surprised no one who is paying attention
But the question is will Trump voters show up for Van Epps?
They may be basing that on the tiny counties which are more fully reported and which are showing slightly smaller swings to the left than the more important counties.
I hope the NYT is right but I’ll wager they will be adjusting their number when more of Davidson and Montgomery come in, and probably won’t be adjusting it favorably for Van Epps.
Better question: Will their votes be counted if they do...

Davidson (Nashville) stuck on about 50% reporting. Van Epps could be looking at another 15,000 vote deficit in the unreported portion — assuming that part of Nashville isn’t any worse (or better) than the reporting half.
Montgomery County (Clarksville) is also stuck at about 50%. That county went heavily for Trump last November. I’m hoping they will cancel out any Davidson Co. votes that remain for Behn.

If Behn settles in at 80% in Nashville, Van Epps would have to practically sweep the rest of MontCo to match that differential. But the rural counties may provide that he needs when Montgomery doesn’t.
Van Epps has pulled ahead in Montgomery at last.
63.2% expected votes in (Est. remaining 64,000)
Van Epps 57,278 52.9%
Behn 49,933 46.1%
Decision Desk just called the election for Van Epps.
Robertson and Williams really need to slow it down and force Davidson to report first. Hopefully we have some smart (but slow) vote counters there.

But only AFTER they report the other 51% of their votes.
