I am told by one of the local Chiefs that I know that the Virginia-class are quieter at 20 kts than the Improved Los Angeles-class are tied up at the dock with the plant in idle.

The Columbia-class Boomers are supposed to be quieter still.

It's getting to where if you want to find one of our subs you have to look for what isn't there.

Criminy...my sonarmen on the FFG told me sometimes it was easier looking for the holes in the sound than the actual sound sometimes....and that was in the 90s...I can only imagine what it must be like now....course I’m sure transducers have improved to an extent as well....

I’m guessing with AI auto triangulation stuff that is likely already developed that it’s considering the same thing...where are the missing biologics...might have to start making marine sounds to disguise them instead...play one of those whale tapes or something....
