Very interesting. I had always associated potatoes with vodka since the biggest vodka drinkers (Russia, Ukraine and Poland) are also where lots of potatoes are grown.

Many sources that have starches that can be converted to sugars are eligible. Wheat, rice and even sweet potatoes.
