Menzies' original execution was halted earlier this year after his attorneys raised concerns about his mental state due to his dementia For once I support the lawyers in this case - based on people I know, living with advanced dementia is a fate worse than death so that's a win in this case.

Is it though? You, me, all his relatives, etc think it's bad but is the dementia patient really suffering that much? They can't really comprehend what they've lost so to them there's no loss, the day is what the day is. Yes there's some scares when you're in a situation you don't recognize where/who, but the impermenance of the situation for you makes it not that bad. It's everyone around you that carries that burden.
