Disney insults viewers again and learns nothing

I remember Star Wars. I had no idea what I’d be seeing that 1977 day in that common theater of the time. Popcorn and pop were affordable, as was admission, which was fortunate, because I saw the movie four times in quick succession with a variety of friends.

From the moment the Star Wars logo filled the screen, accompanied by John Williams’ main title fanfare, I, and countless others, were enthralled. We’d never seen anything like it, and while the special effects now seem a bit dated in comparison with contemporary computer-generated imagery, they still hold up well.

Like all epic literature, the movie began in medias res and followed the journey of a hero—Luke Skywalker—fighting against insurmountable odds, aided by supernatural forces, in this case “The Force.” Certainly, other decisions in the movies that followed were ill-advised, such as the eminently forgettable Jar Jar Binks. Even so, fans expected, and largely got, epic adventure, noble and admirable characters, ever-improving special effects and a few hours of solid entertainment. I didn’t succumb to Star Wars merchandise but looked forward to each new film.

Then the Disney Grooming Syndicate got ahold of the franchise.

They expanded into TV and streaming, and some offerings, like The Mandalorian were popular, but Disney drove the franchise into terminal wokeness and fired popular star Gina Carano over a mildly conservative social media post. She sued for wrongful termination and won a settlement from Disney in August of 2025.

Doubling down on stupid, Disney produced The Acolyte in 2024, and its creator quickly declared it the “gayest Star Wars yet,” which was only a warmup for the revelation that lesbian space witches created the Jedi.

I have read credible suggestions that the original plan for Jar-Jar was for him to be a secret Sith, and that portraying an imbecile was just a cover for him thwarting rebel plans. He turned out to be so unpopular that Lucas chickened out.

Did Disney really think there was a hug mob out there wanting to the “gayest Star Wars ever?” Or are they just run by a bunch of child grooming homosexuals and perverts?

Never mind.

The rebellion proved they had no unified ideas other than Empire bad.
That’s it.
They created a huge vacuum of power, created economic disasters and were a huge step backward for all the various species.
Plus the threat of an extragalactic invasion which the Empire was preparing for, was completely ignored n the Disney bs.
Was the empire needing reform?
Yes. But the rebellion proved to not be the answer.

Are you actually creating prose to recount such unimportant trash? One episode of the original twilight zone is more memorable than SW movies 3-6. The new SW movies....not even worth one joule of brain energy.

Same.

I was a teenager when my boyfriend’s parents took us to see Close Encounters at the theater and it was so cool to see a whole theater full of people step out into the night and look up at the sky with silent, mixed wonder and anxiety.

Didn’t get any crowd reaction like that when we were taken to see Star Wars.

Star Wars was okay but not remotely life altering.

Hope the Bantha doesn’t get stuck in carbomite, or else Darth Maul will pound ya’ with his shillelagh.
Hope they sold lots of stuffed ewoks for Christmas. Keep the imperial walkers out of Hoth, and don’t let the Tauntons (massachusetts?) freeze...or Lando Calrissian(thought he was Armenian) might bust out into some blues...
What a pile of garbage...as enchanting as a bowl of pus....hope they sold a lot of toy Yodas.

The way Disney butchered the story. What if Luke stayed and the new structure solidified and the Jedi became active through the galaxy keeping peace and supporting strong good minimal govt, going after thugs and bullies. There would be a whole galaxy full of them to deal with...

I saw the first Star Wars in a theatre on The Hill in Boulder.

I enjoyed it. It was a good afternoon’s entertainment. I don’t think I’ve seen a single other episode.

The answer, from a former top Disney creator, is yes they are. Go to this link, “They Snuck It Into Films” Former Disney Animator EXPOSES Hollywood’s Hidden Agenda for Your Kids' and starting at the 2:50 mark this man tells you straight up that the place is crawling with deviants.

First one was ok....very good aliens, especially the bar scene....it was Star Trek on steroids with a decent story line...but the rest...pure derivative pap...kept on adding layer upon layer of meaningless plot lines and aliens...

Remember seeing it at drive in theater- what a great experience it was for a youngish person at that time. Saw it with family. Had a great time. Wqs a beautiful night weatherwise too. We nad a tv with like onky 3-4 channels that came 8n well at the time, and going to the theater was such a treat. Thought it was the coolest thing ever. Later we went to movie theaters- but just not the same.

My oldest son now 59, was 11 in 1977. Back then you could pay one admittance and stay for the next showing and the next. I dropped him off a few more times so he could sit through it again and again. I know he saw it at least a dozen times, if not more. I took him and his brother to Washington, D.C. in the early 80’s We were there for a week. The only place my oldest son wanted to go to was the Air and Space Museum, so we’d drop him off in the morning, and pick him back up in the afternoon. My youngest son and I did other things while he was roaming the museum.
